TUT Held the First Session of the 2nd Alumni Association General Assembly

On December 15, the First Session of the 2nd Alumni Association General Assembly was held in the library lecture hall. Attending the conference were Miao Nan, Director of the Private Education Department of the Municipal Education Commission, and Liu Dongzhi, Lian Jijian, Ye Ning and Su Ronghua from the university administration.

Lu Junrui, the first president of the Alumni Association, delivered the Work Report of the First Council of the Alumni Association, briefly introducing the development and achievements of the Alumni Association, sharing its development experience and suggestions for the future. Responsible colleagues from the Alumni Affair Office successively presented Articles of Association revision explanation, the Report on Preparations for the Leadership Transition and the Explanation of the Selection of Candidates for the Second Council. The conference reviewed and approved the above reports, explanations and related matters.

The congress elected 129 council members, 33 executive council members, and 1 supervisor for the second council. Su Ronghua, the newly elected chairman of the second council, speaking on behalf of the new council, said that TUT alumni work will continue to carry forward the spirit of TUT, strictly abide by the alumni associations constitution, focus on the core work of TUT. Efforts will be made in five key areas: institutional standardization, multi-dimensional liaison, branded activities, digital-intelligent services, and deeper coordination The aim is to explore how alumni work can facilitate deeper integration and development in areas such as industry-academia-research collaboration, university-local services, and interactions among alumni (and their enterprises), striving to make new and greater contributions to the development of TUT and the alumni.

Miao Nan highly praised the vigorous development of alumni affairs of TUT in recent years. He stated that the Private Education Department of the Municipal Education Commission will continue to strongly support the development of the Alumni association of TUT, and he hoped that the new council would persistently strengthen learning, internal management, and substantive construction, further gathering alumni resources and forces, providing alumni services and development, achieving mutual empowerment among partner schools, and realizing high-quality development of the association, thereby making new contributions to building a strong city and nation in education.

Liu Dongzhi briefly introduced the outstanding achievements and positive development momentum of TUT in recent years in talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research, and social services, fully affirming the rapid development of alumni affairs of TUT. Alumni are always the most valuable wealth and resource of TUT, serving as an inexhaustible driving force for its high-quality development. Strengthening alumni work is equivalent to building the second TUT—the TUT in society. We must widely build consensus, unite the strength of alumni, and jointly write the TUTs chapter of Chinese modernization. The new council will persist in gathering emotions, wisdom, and strength, leading the association to proactively enhance alumni services, vigorously support the development of various alumni branches, and focus on building a multi-level, comprehensive platform for alumni exchange and cooperation.

After the conference, the First (expanded) Meeting of the Second Executive Council of the Alumni Association of TUT was held in the multi-functional lecture hall of the library. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the mobilization meeting for the special governance of affiliated social organizations of the Municipal Education Commission and the social organization work conference. Participants jointly outlined the work ideas for the alumni association in 2025. Chairman Su Ronghua further clarified the future work requirements, emphasizing that the council must adhere to the principles of running the association with political awareness, openness, and compliance with regulations.

More than 400 people attended the meeting, including responsible officials from various units and schools, school administrative staff responsible for alumni affairs, counselor teachers, responsible comrades from alumni associations at all levels, and alumni representatives.
