Tianjin University of Technology (TUT) is situated at No.391 Binshui Xi Road, Xiqing District, Tianjin. The campus spans a total area of 1,599,300 square meters, with a building area of 761,700 square meters. TUT has 29,198 full-time students enrolled at the undergraduate level and above. Currently, the university has 16 colleges, 68 undergraduate majors, 6 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 2 professional doctoral degree authorization majors, 1 independently established interdisciplinary doctoral program, 22 first-level discipline master's programs, 14 professional master's degree authorization majors, and 4 first-level discipline post-doctoral research stations. The disciplines of Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, and Computer Science have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings. Among them, Materials Science and Engineering and Computer Science and Technology have been selected for the "Top Discipline Development Program for Universities in Tianjin". Additionally, Materials Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, and Management Science and Engineering have been recognized as Tianjin's first-class disciplines. The university has established 9 industry-oriented discipline clusters serving Tianjin's higher education sector, including Cybersecurity and Data Intelligence, as well as 11 Tianjin characteristic disciplines, such as Machine Vision and Intelligent Computation. Furthermore, 12 disciplines have been approved as Tianjin Key Disciplines.

The university has been approved with 22 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, along with 4 featured majors recognized by the Ministry of Education, 2 pilot majors for comprehensive reform under the Ministry of Education's "Undergraduate Teaching Project" and 5 pilot majors under the Ministry of Education's "Outstanding Engineers Education and Training Program". It has established 2 National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers, 1 National Virtual Simulation Education Center, 3 National Engineering Practice Education Centers, and 2 Off-Campus Practical Education Base Construction Projects for University Students under the National "Undergraduate Teaching Project". Additionally, the university has compiled 14 national-level quality and planned textbooks, been approved for 19 national first-class undergraduate courses and 3 Ministry of Education's quality video open courses and national-level quality resource-sharing courses, and received 8 national-level teaching achievement awards. The university actively promotes engineering education reform, and 16 programs have won accreditation for engineering education programs. The campus is equipped with comprehensive facilities including a Student Activity Center, a gymnasium, and an athletic sports field. The library, with a floor area of 46,000 square meters, houses over 2.21 million printed books, 1.036 million electronic books, and 21,000 kinds of electronic journals, in addition to providing access to more than 50 authoritative Chinese and foreign databases.

The university places a strong emphasis on the development of platforms for technological innovation. Currently, it has 1 national key laboratory, 1 national engineering laboratory, 2 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 1 international joint research laboratory of the Ministry of Education, 2 engineering research centers of the Ministry of Education, 1 demonstration base for innovative talent training of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 1 joint innovation and intelligence introduction base of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and the Ministry of Education, and 1 base for the transformation and transfer of scientific and technological achievements of the Ministry of Education. It has been designated as a national intellectual property pilot university. The university boasts 35 research institutions including key laboratories of Tianjin, engineering centers, humanities and social science bases, science popularization bases, and various think tanks. The university ranks among the top 200 globally in the Nature Index and is listed among the top 100 universities in China. It has facilitated 2,844 projects related to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and services for enterprises, with a total contract value of 1.424 billion RMB.

The university boasts a strong faculty team. Currently, it has 2,056 staff members, including 1,545 full-time teachers. Among them, 983 hold doctoral degrees, and 802 have senior titles. The faculty includes 21 national-level leading talents, such as Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) Academician, Recipients of the National Distinguished Young Scientists Fund, and Recipients of the National Excellent Young Scientists Fund, National-level Candidates for the "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Program", and National Teaching Masters. Additionally, there are 138 provincial and ministerial-level talents, including distinguished scholars of Tianjin, specially appointed professors of Tianjin, Candidates for the Tianjin Special Support Program, and first-tier Candidates for Tianjin "131" Program. The university also boasts 19 high-level innovation teams, which provide strong support for its development.

The university vigorously implements the internationalization strategy, establishes friendly and cooperative relations with 150 well-known universities and scientific research institutions in 38 countries and regions. Through collaborative undergraduate and graduate programs with universities in Canada, Japan, and other countries, it cultivated China's first cohort of Master's graduates in Project Management. The Innovation and Talent Introduction Base for "New Energy Materials" was selected for the Ministry of Education and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs"111". Designated as a recipient institution for the Chinese Government Scholarship for international students, the university continuously enhances the recruitment and training quality of these students, improving their cross-cultural communication skills through student-centered management and a diverse campus culture. It has established two Confucius Institutes and one Confucius Classroom in Poland and Côte d'Ivoire, and built Tianjin's first Luban Workshop in Côte d'Ivoire participated in by regular higher education institutions. Faculty and students extensively engage in exchanges and collaborations with internationally renowned research institutions, jointly undertake key international cooperative projects, and co-publish academic papers in prestigious international journals such as Science.
