Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2025 was held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. To support for the volunteer services, our university selected 95 volunteers from 1,391 applicants. After systematic training and practice, they have been involved in receiving domestic guests, providing support at visit site, and delivering other related services.

On the evening of August 29, TUT student volunteers Nie Zhenghao and Huang Kexin appeared on CCTV News Channel’s program. They were serving at the Wudadao area in Heping District. Along the street, they greeted passersby with smiles, patiently answered their questions, supporting the SCO Summit through actions.

Volunteer Wang Zheli welcomed visitors in the Golden Street of Heping District. Through teeming streets, he maintained order and answered questions with patience and care, conveying Tianjin’s warm welcome and the spirit of the SCO. He said,“We’re all about connecting with people through our smiles and services, and making sure things run smoothly. It really hits me that peace and development aren’t just abstract ideas. Instead, they’re present in every friendly encounter you have on the street.”

At Minyuan Square on the Wudadao area, Zhang Xi guided visitors and international friends, sharing stories about the historic Western-style villas, and taking photos for families. He said,“I’m so glad to serve for the Summit, connecting people with smile and sincerity. It has been the best part of my college life!”

Bai Xintong volunteered in welcoming domestic guests at Tianjin Station and the reception hotel. She followed the team’s instructions to greet guests and guide them to their vehicles and final destinations. For her, a smile, a warm greeting, or clear direction was never just about job. It was about conveying warmth. Inspired by this experience, she will continue to share Tianjin’s story, showcasing the sense of responsibility and commitment of the youth in the new era.
