Tianjin-Style Filigree Workshop, grounded inThe Art of Tianjin-Style Filigree Making listed among Tianjin’s first batch of The Plan on Revitalizing China’s Traditional Crafts, operates under the auspices of Tianjin University of Technology’s Aesthetic Education Practice Center. Through close collaboration between the Technical College for the Deafand Tianjin Jewelry Factory, and supported by Industry–University–Research Integration, workshop members conduct research on Tianjin-Style filigree patterns and form design and explore the common ground between Tianjin-Style culture and modern decorative arts, making theart of Tianjin-Style filigree integrate into contemporary fields, therefore, transforming the profound and unique Jin-style cultural resources into products. This approach has established its own characteristics and competitive advantages, achieving a perfect fusion of art and daily life. During the exhibition period, the Guangming Daily published a report on our university’s art practice workshop.

The seal carving work Xiao Rong’Impressions (made by Tian Xiaorong) primarily features classic Chinese poetry, embodying the cultural confidence of young people in the new era who love the Party and country and keep positive. The seal impressions uniformly display a consistent and refined style. The white-background seals draw on traditional Han and Manchu scripts, striving for balance, clarity, and dignified elegance; the red seals follow the finered-text seal script, incorporating bold red-text lines to achieve antique grandeur and the distinctive “Jinshi” charm—the timeless beauty of ancient metal and stone artifacts. In creation, the work seeks harmony between content and form, presenting serenity, elegance, and pleasure.

The calligraphy workChen Duxiu’s Exhortation to Youth in Running Script features an editorial written by Chen Duxiu, leader of the May Fourth New Culture Movement, for the journal New Youth (LA JEUNESSE) . The calligraphy draws inspiration from He Shaoji’s running script of the Qing dynasty, featuring a bold yet graceful brushwork, full of rhythm and vitality. The composition adopts a vertical three-section layout, with deep green at the center, light blue on both sides, and brown strips interwoven throughout. They complement the exuberant and resonant power of the text.

The case study Art + Ideological  and Political Education: Forging a New Paradigm for Aesthetic Education Immersion—Taking the Aesthetic Education Immersion Practices at Tianjin University of Technologys School of Art as an Example actively explores university-supported development models for aesthetic education in primary and secondary schools. It aims to establish a new paradigm for aesthetic education immersion, striving to achieve the effects of“educating through beauty to nurture virtue and strengthen the soul,”“cultivating intellect and enriching themindthrough culture,”and“fostering aesthetic sensibility to build solid foundations for growth.”

Our university has always placed great emphasis on aesthetic education, fully implementing aesthetic education immersion initiative. We have strengthened top-level design by establishing the Aesthetic Education Teaching and Research Center and the Aesthetic Education Practice Center. Additionally, we have revised and improved institutional documents such as theImplementation Plan for Deepening Aesthetic Education at Tianjin University of Technology, optimized relevant curriculum, and fully implemented aesthetic education credits to achieve universal coverage of aesthetic education. We strive to build a four-in-one aesthetic education system that integrates “aesthetic education classrooms, practices, activities, and interdisciplinary integration.”We have cultivated brand culture and scaled upexperiential learning activities. These diverse aesthetic practices help students develop a deeper ability to discover, appreciate, experience, and create beauty, achieving remarkable results in fostering well-rounded personal growth. Moving forward, we will fully implement the educational policy of the CPC, carry out the basic task of fostering virtue through education. We will adopt immersion as the guiding path and ultimate goal of aesthetic education, integrating it into every aspect of teaching and learning activities. These efforts will showcase fruitful results in a subtle yet profound way. In the future, we will enhance students’ aesthetic and humanistic literacy, and strive to nurture new generations of socialist builders with well-rounded development.
