In 2009, approved by the Ministry of Education, Tianjin University of Technology founded the Key Laboratory of Computer Vision and Systems. This laboratory is based on the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Intelligence Computing and New Software Technology, and the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Control Theory & Applications in Complicated Industry Systems. It focuses on national strategic demands in electronic information and intelligent manufacturing, creating a comprehensive research platform that spans theory, methods, and applications of computer vision, while systematically establishing facilities like a high-performance computing center and specialized laboratories to form a multi-tiered, open research support system. Equipped with facilities like a high-performance computing center and laboratories for mobile computing, computer vision, and network information security, the lab supports diverse research areas, including intelligent computing, systems control, and robotics. These efforts facilitate advancements in intelligent manufacturing, public safety, and smart transportation. Leveraging the Tianjin University of Technology’s strengths, the laboratory aligns with national strategic development, addressing key areas like intelligent technology and network security. Through continuous innovation, it strives to establish itself as a leading key laboratory, providing strategic support for regional industrial upgrades and national technological independence.
