In January 2014, the National Engineering Laboratory for Computer Virus Prevention and Control Technology was approved for construction by the National Development and Reform Commission. It is led by the National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center, with Tianjin University of Technology serving as one of the main co-constructing units. Based on Tianjin University of Technology’s “Cyberspace Security” Tianjin Municipal Key Discipline and “Cybersecurity and Big Data” Tianjin Municipal Characteristic Discipline Cluster, the laboratory conducts researches on key technologies including virus detection and analysis, APT attack detection, security defense, and attack tracing to meet the virus prevention and control demands in environments like the Next-Generation Internet and cloud computing. The laboratory has 7 provincial- and ministerial-level talents and 2 provincial- and ministerial-level innovation teams. In recent years, it has undertaken dozens of projects including the National Key R&D Program, won 5 scientific and technological awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, obtained over 60 national invention patents and software copyrights, and published over 50 high-level papers.
