TUT has jumped into the global top 200 in the latest Nature Index release (July 2024 - June 2025, https://www.nature.com/nature-index/). It is now ranked 174th globally.
Domestically, TUT made a significant leap to 68th place in the natural sciences, up 19 spots compared to 2024. Its chemistry program stood out, reaching 50th place in China.
This consistent rise highlights the expanding global reach of TUT's research impact. It marks solid achievements in strengthening its academic discipline development and foundational research.
The Nature Index was first launched in November 2014 by the prestigious Nature Research group. It tracks nearly one year of high-quality scientific output from more than 20,000 research institutions worldwide.
This metric is calculated based on the number of research papers published in 145 top-tier scientific journals. These include leading publications like Nature,Science, andCell.
A key feature of the index is its use of the Fractional Count (FC) method. This method addresses the issue of double-counting papers with multiple authors. It provides a more accurate reflection of each institution's contribution.
By doing so, the Nature Index effectively measures the output and competitiveness of countries, regions, and institutions in producing high-impact research. It is widely recognized as a scientific and authoritative gauge of top-tier research performance.
