TUT Welcomes 2025 Incoming Students
Date : 2025-09-08

On September 6-7, TUT welcomed its 2025 incoming students. Around 8,200 new undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students from across China gathered on the campus, injecting vitality into the university.

President Lian Jijian and other senior leaders visited registration sites, volunteer stations, dormitories, the one-stop student community and the theatre, welcoming newcomers and thanking staff and volunteers.

Welcome walls, campus maps and photo booths lined the main road and dorm areas. A selfie hotspot was the motto wall—“Valuing Virtue and Capacity, Pursuing Truth and Innovation”—spelled out with the names of all 8,200 new students.

Departments competed to hand out small, well-chosen gifts, winning instant likes from the freshmen and giving them an immediate sense of belonging.

The university brought in local masters of intangible cultural heritage to demo traditional crafts. New students tried their hand at paper-cutting, clay molding and other classics of Chinese culture.

Via the digital technology, the university provided precise pick-up services at the three railway stations and the airport. Volunteers were deployed at key locations across campus including thoroughfares, dormitories, and dining halls. Through the “Mingli Home One-stop” Student Community, all students completed their registration and move-in procedures.

Crews repainted road markings; traffic police were asked to manage surrounding traffic flow; and additional security personnel were deployed to maintain order.

During the summer vacation, the university optimized cafeteria operations, adjusting menus, introducing regional specialty snacks, and adding distinctive dining stations. Campus was disinfected, greened and repainted; gate-side tents offered first-aid kits, luggage storage and shuttle buses with volunteers to keep move-in day smooth.
