On June 16, 2025, a delegation from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) led by Vice President Étienne Hébert visited Tianjin University of Technology. Wang Tie, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee” and Vice President, met with the delegation. Both sides engaged in an in-depth exchange regarding the current status and future development of the cooperative education program between the two institutions.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the School of Management and the Office of International Exchange.


Vice President Wang Tie extended a warm welcome to Mr. Étienne Hébert and his delegation. He reviewed over 20 years of collaborative history between the two institutions. He noted that this visit provides an important opportunity to further deepen cooperation, expressing hope that both parties will optimize and upgrade existing programs while expanding collaboration in high‑level talent cultivation, joint research, faculty exchanges and other areas—thereby advancing Sino–Canadian educational cooperation to new heights.
Vice President Hébert expressed appreciation for the warm reception and spoke highly of the outcomes achieved through the long‑term partnership. He emphasized that future efforts will focus on future joint efforts of existing joint programs to elevate educational standards and strengthen the development of internationalized talent. He also noted that UQAC will continue to deepen exchanges and academic cooperation with the faculty and students Tianjin University of Technology faculty and students to jointly explore new pathways for educational innovation.
The meeting reinforced the partnership between the two universities and laid a solid foundation for more substantive collaboration in the future.
